Today marks the first day of 1387. Happy New Year Afghans, Persians, Tajiks, and as one of our readers, Zan, mentioned...Kurds and of course the mother of us all... Zoroastrians....
The BEST news just came to me as I hang up the Skype phone to Afghanistan. Noor Jaan, our project manager just told me
That 4 of the 10 initial women in literacy passed their exams and are accepted in the 7th grade in public schools. It brought tears to my eyes. My dream is to see their innocent faces in school uniforms and see them succeed in whatever they want to achieve. I’m SO PROUD of their achievements today. For the first time I feel like I’m truly doing what I am supposed to be doing and I truly feel the presence of the divine in the soul of our project.
Please pray that we can get them through the red tape and into actual classrooms... Who knows..we might even be able to encourage them to finish college.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
