Such fun starting the morning with my cousin Azim jaan's beautiful family. The boys insisted to sit on my lap and show me how good they are playing PS2 (I think... They are way more advanced than I am in video games). Then I head out to meet Massoud Jaan Etemadi who inspires me every minute I spend time with him. FRESH SQUEEZED POMEGRANATE JUICE and coffee! YUM YUM!
We ended up meeting the Brilliant Roya jaan Dost and they whisk me away to the National Gallery where Massoud pulled some strings and got us in. The Gallery is a collection of paintings that were in large homes of art lovers as well as artists and private collectors that survived (barely) the wrath of Taliban. They curator took us on an amazing private tour and I was rude enough to snap a few photos with my phone. I just couldn't help it.
On the way back we met Athena Jaan, this ridiculously charming hard working young woman with unparalleled beauty who started her own boutique selling lingerie and skin care. And I FINNAY got to meet Fereshta Jaan Kazemi, an amazing Afghan America actress who returned to Kabul after 30 years and just finished a few projects including the film "the Icy Sun" which will premier in the French cultural center, my old high school theater of Thursday. She is a breath of fresh air and we had a BLAST exchanging stories.
Tomorrow, Noor Jaan and I are going to hunt down threads and more fabrics as well as check on the progress of the few new samples that are being made.
